A 22 year old woman has been charged in relation to a new born baby dumped at Mulifanua interisland ferry.

The young woman did not have a lawyer when she appeared before Justice Leiataualesa Daryl Clarke Monday morning.

Samoa Observer reports that the prosecutor, Assistant Attorney General Magele Leone Su’a, told the court police have yet to finalize charges and asked for a one week adjournment.

Justice Leiataualesa granted the prosecution request and instructed the defendant to seek a legal counsel before she appears again next Monday for mention.

The new born baby girl was buried on October 6 at the Tafa’igata Cemetery after she was given the name of Teviti Angel Aumaga by a good Samaritan who also paid for the burial expenses.
