Samoa Police are pursuing what has been described as “new leads” in their investigation into the disappearance of a man since July 23, 2019.

Thirty-five year old Semi Le’au of Solosolo was last seen heading for a swim at the Ocean Club Resort, at Maninoa in the early hours of the morning.

Police Commissioner Fuiavailili Egon Keil told the Samoa Observer there’s a new “break” in the matter.

“I can confirm we have new leads and that we are investigating at the moment,” he said.

Fuiavailili said he could not say anymore on the matter for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.

An unidentified woman has been banned by Police from leaving the country until the investigation is completed.

She was identified by the resort manager as having checked into the establishment on the same evening Le’au went missing.

Police continue to seek public assistance in their investigation.
