Treasury issued a statement today to correct what it says is misinformation being put out about the release date for the next batch of refund checks.
Apparently the erroneous information says that refunds will be released tomorrow Friday, July 19.
Treasury says the correct date for the next release of tax refunds is Wednesday, July 24th. Those receiving refund checks in that batch are those who filed between February 19 and March 29th.
The total amount of the refund checks is $3.1 million. Local refunds amount to $1.2 million and Additional Child Tax Credit refunds total $1.9 million.
Again Treasury advises that information being circulated that refunds will be released tomorrow is not correct. Instead, tax refunds will be out next Wednesday, July 24.
