Our gold winning womens basketball team and Assistant Coach Diehl Langkilde returned from Apia this afternoon to a warm welcome by fans, family and friends.
The team was undefeated throughout the Pacific Games and last night dumped the defending Pacific Games champs, Fiji, 75-53.
With their gold medals around their neck the team was welcomed with a prayer by Rev. Toeaina, whose niece Sarah Toeaina played a major role in the team’s stellar performance.
As the girls stepped off the plane and made their way out of the arrival terminal there was loud cheering from their relatives and fans.
And the girls responded with their own cheers.
