Governor leads Manu’a Flag Day celebration

Governor Lolo Moliga is scheduled to give the main address at the Manua Flag Day ceremony at Malaetele Manu’a tomorrow.

The celebration marks the first raising of the US flag in Manu’a, which came four years after Old Glory was hoisted on Tutuila.

Governor Lolo is leading a group of ASG leaders heading to Manua tomorrow for the celebration.

As with the April Flag Day Program, the youth, to which the celebration is dedicated have a part to play in the official flag raising program.

The proclamation will be read by Letaua Olive Tagaloa and Melody Vee while the flags of the US, American Samoa and Manu’a will be raised by Brian Vivao, Salatielu Milo and Gideon Mageo.

Hymns for the prayer service, led by Rev Iosefo Autele, will be sung by the Faleasao Elementary School and Fitiuta Elementary School.

Governor Lolo Moliga will provide the main address and remarks will also be delivered by Manua District Governor Laolagi Savali Vaeao.

Entertainment will be performed by the Faleasao and Fitiuta Elementary Schools as well as Manu’a High School.

The celebration concludes with the awarding of prizes and the final prayer.

It was planned that there wll be a fishing tournament for this week, however Director fo Marine and Wildlife Resources Vaamua Henry Sesepasara said that they cancelled because there’s not enough fuel in Manu’a.
