Yesterday Project Manager for McConnell Dowell Stuart Pilat was presented with an appreciation award from Bishop Peter Brown of the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago.

The award was to acknowledge and express thanks for Pilat’s help and support of Hope House and several projects of the Diocese, including fixing the roads to the Holy Family Cathedral during his tenure.

The award was presented by Rep. Larry Sanitoa, Chairman of the Hope House Board at a farewell barbecue Wednesday, hosted by McConnell Dowell management and staff for Pilat and his wife Helen.

They are leaving the territory tomorrow for good after six years.

Mr Pilat has resigned from McConnell Dowell and returns to New Zealand, where he says he will set up a private company.

Sanitoa also presented McConnell Dowell with an appreciation award for their ongoing support of the territory’s schools, repairing side roads and many other community needs.

The new Project Manager Jake Braithwaite accepted the award.

KHJ News wishes the Pilats all the best.
