Good luck at National Spelling Bee Maozache

Territorial spelling champ Maozache Taufetee leaves Thursday night with his mother, Dr. Lauagaia Mary Taufetee for the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

Bee Week 2019  is from Sunday, May 26 to Friday May 31st at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

A teacher from Maozache’s school, Manulele Tausala, will also be there to watch him compete.

The champion speller’s mother, who is Director of the American Samoa Council on Arts, Culture and Humanities says there will be a pre test on Sunday and the first round will be the following Tuesday.

She asks for prayers and support for Maozache as he comptes against the top spellers from around the nation.
