The American Samoa Department of Homeland Security is questioning persons of interest that according to Director Samana Semo Ve’ave’a, may be involved in a scheme to move foreigners using fake passports to and from American Samoa.

Samana says they are working with the two inter Samoa airlines and have received valuable information to help in their investigation.

Last week two individuals of Indian descent but using Canadian passports were detained by Samoan immigration for falsifying their entry forms.

The two had been banned from entering Fiji for a whole year after Fijian immigration discovered their passports were fake.  They failed to declare this on their entry forms,

According to Samana a local resident was trying to bring the two men who are detained in Samoa to the territory.

There’s suspicions that someone in American Samoa Immigration may be involved.

The two men being detained in Apia, Sohan Lal and Jasver Singh had traveled to Apia from Tonga and were to travel to American Samoa.

Samoa plans to send them back to Tonga.
