Four hotels on the big island Savai’i will house all boxers and officials during the Pacific Games in Samoa in July.

According to the CEO of the Games Organizing Committee Hele Matatia, Jet Over Hotel, Lucia Chalets, Savai’ian Hotel and Rosalote Hotel were chosen for their close proximity to the boxing venue at Salelologa.

Boxing will be held at the Catholic Church run Don Bosco School.

“When the request was put to us by government our school embraced it, it is our contribution to the government efforts in hosting the games,” said Principal of the College Father Nuku Tevita in a telephone interview with the newspaper.

Boxing is one of 16 compulsory sports the Pacific Games is offering.

These include athletics, basketball, football, golf, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, rugby 7s, sailing, swimming, beach and indoor volley ball, weightlifting and canoeing.

The 10 optional sports are archery, badminton, cricket, lawn bowling, netball, rugby league 9, power lifting, squash, touch rugby and shooting.
