The Island Wide Clean Up Committee is calling on the business community for help in cleaning and beautifying their premises for Flag Day.

As the territory nears the biggest celebration of the year, Flag Day, Island Wide Cleanup Committee co-chairs – ASPA-C-E-O Wallon Young and A-S-E-P-A Director Lefega Faamao Asalele say “we are all in this celebration together,” and they “appreciate very much the support of the business community to clean up and decorate in the spirit of Flag Day” this year.

CEO Young says they are “encouraging the business community to organize clean-ups at work, and to add that special flavor and flair for American Samoaʻs special time of the year.”

ASEPA Director Lefega Asalele said, “Flag Day is that special opportunity to clean all of our businesses of unwanted debris, and an opportunity to keep American Samoa the most beautiful place in the middle of the Pacific.

“Every year, and throughout the year, through the Island Wide CleanUp, it is great to see that our island community and respective businesses are taking ownership of this beautiful place that we live because we have all accepted our collective roles to be the solution to the pollution in our island home.”

The next Island Wide Clean Up is Friday, April 5th. Roadside decorations will begin on Wednesday, April 10th.
