7:30 pm Friday, February 22: The National Weather Service has issued a FLASH FLOOD WARNING for Tutuila, Aunu’u, and Manu’a until 10:00 tonight, February 22, 2019. This is due to heavy flooding in low lying areas and roads.
Be cautious of heavy ponding along the main road, strong runoffs, and overflow of streams that may cause hazards while walking or driving. Move to higher ground or location immediately if your home is in a flood prone area.
Also a SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY remains active.
The American Samoa Department of Homeland Security – TEMCO will continue to monitor the situation and will issue further bulletins if necessary. Report any weather related incidents to the EOC at 699-3800/6990411 or the Police at 633-1111.
