Flags in the territory are flying at half staff today and tomorrow in honor of Associate Justive Lyle Richmond.

Acting Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga issued a memorandum ordering that all flags in American Samoa be lowered to half staff beginning at sunrise on February 14, and continuing until sunset on February 15, 2019 in remembrance of Associate Justice Lyle L. Richmond’s years of public service and dedication to our territory.

“I ask the people of American Samoa to join the administration in honoring the passing of Justice Richmond,” said Lemanu.

“His many years of service in both the Executive and Judicial branches of government, and to his family and church, and to the people of American Samoa, will long be remembered.  His contributions to good governance and the development of our jurisprudence built a stronger foundation for all of our futures.  May he rest in peace.”

Funeral services for Judge Richmond are being held today and tomorrow.
