Not one federal government employee in the territory affected by the federal government shutdown has  taken  up Governor Lolo Moliga’s offer of assistance.

The Governor’s Office reports that as of yesterday not a single person has made contact with their office indicating they need help.

Two weeks ago just as news was coming out of Washington DC that federal employees who had been furloughed for over a month were returning to work, a press release from the Governor’s Office announced that they were working on a program to help individuals who had been furloughed.

Governor Lolo requested that in order to identify the unmet need of federal employees residing and providing services to the territory, the Office of the Governor requests that all individuals that work fulltime for the federal government  and not receiving any other substantial source of income to make contact with the Governor’s Office.

Jerome Ielome who was named as the point of contact in the Governor’s Office said in response to KHJ News questions that not a single person took up the offer.

He said they werent able to get an exact number of employees affected but from their estimates it would be about 60 employees.

It was found that some federal employees have other sources of income.  For example of the 26 local TSA employees, all but 3 are ASG employees.
