Director of Human and Social Services Muavaefaatasi John Suisala says this is the fifth day that the Tafuna WIC Clinic has been closed. After disruptions in internet and telephone last Thursday.  Net

ASTCA was called to troubleshoot the problem and they said t the wires inside the ONT  or fiber optic) box are damaged and the box needs to be replaced.

Muavaefaatasi said all WIC client services are conducted and delivered using an  Internet-based MIS system (known as HANDS – for Health And Nutrition Delivery System).

Without internet ASWIC cannot serve clients.

So the Tafuna WIC Clinic was closed Friday last week, to await replacement of the fiber optic box.

The DHSS Director says they are pushing to  get the ONT box purchased and installed as soon as possible in order to have the Tafuna WIC Clinic re-opened for the convenience of clients and families residing in the surrounding areas.
