The former owners of the legendary Aggie Greys are again in the headlines for failing to pay debts which has now led to threats of liquidation by the Samoa Ports Authority.

Samoa Observer reports that the Aggie Greys Beach Resort Samoa Limited has been sued for failure to pay accrued port charges of $49,877.56.

It is believed that a statutory demand letter dated August 29, 2018 was submitted by Komisi Koria of Clarke EY Koria Lawyers in Apia.

The letter apparently demands payment of the amount owed within 15 days of receiving the notice.

Failing to make the payment would see the Samoa Ports Authority petition the Supreme Court at Apia for an order that the Aggie Grey’s Beach Resort Samoa Limited be put into receivership, demanded the letter.

The Minister of Finance has already made threats of seizing assets belonging to the company if negotiations on a repayment plan on a $50 million loan from government, is not satisfactory.
