41st Annual Holiday Music Festival

Rain or shine the Annual Music Festival sponsored by the American Samoa Arts Council and Department of Youth and Woman Affairs will kick off Sunday at Suiga ula o le Atuvasa.

The three night festival will feature ten performing groups each night.  The sponsoring agencies have been told by Governor Lolo Moliga to lift the bar this year as he wasn’t very impressed with last year’s event.

He urged that they put in extra effort to make the program enjoyable and meaningful.

Governor Lolo Moliga who has been attending meetings in Honolulu is scheduled to arrive home tonight and is on the program to give opening remarks while First Lady Cynthia Moliga is to light the Territorial Christmas tree.

Director of the Arts Council Tiumalualii Dr. Mary Lauagaia Taufetee says the  groups have been selected however their order of appearance is being finalized before the program is released.

The entertainers include youth groups, school and church choirs and Sunday schools, plus the Sosaiete O Faafafine i Amerika Samoa.

The program for Sunday Monday and Tuesday starts at 6 pm.
