Your flood report for this Monday morning

Two and a half inches of rain fell beween midnight last night and 5:30 this morning and that water has covered the roads in pretty much most of the roads on Tutuila.

Since Saturday night we’ve had heavy rain, thunder and lightning and this is due to an active trough over the Samoan island group which is not expected to move away until tomorrow night.

Around 5 this morning the lake between Argosy University and SAAB Pago had reached up to the window of small Sedans.

And the Fagaima road from the intersection to Kokoland up to the driveway of the Seui residence was like a river with a  strong current.

The Weather Service Office is extending the flash flood warning that was to end at 10 this morning and is advising those in low lying areas or near streams to move to higher ground. Also motorists are urged not to cross floods.

The Emergency Operations Center reports this morning that there have not been any weather related incidents called in so far.

The only school cancellation notice we’ve received this morning is from Manumalo Baptist. Teachers are asked to report to school nonetheless.
