Three inmates plead guilty to escaping from TCF

Three inmates who escaped from the Territorial Correctional Facility entered guilty pleas last Thursday when they appeared in the High Court.

Samoa News reports that Andrew Peters, also known as Luao Fagota, Jason Isaiah Muasau and Vatia Tugaga appeared for a change of plea hearing.

The three are accused of escaping from TCF in July this year.

Twenty-six year old Peters admited he escaped from TCF while serving a sentence of 7 years, after being convicted by the High Court for stealing back in 2013.

Muasau, 32, and 31-year-old Tugaga, admited escaping from TCF while serving 27 years each for first degree assault in 2011.

The court accepted their change of pleas and will sentence them on January 18, 2019.

They were represented by Assistant Public Defender Ryan Anderson, while prosecuting the case was Assistant Attorney General Laura Garvey.
