Samoa Water Authority writes off unpaid bills

It seems that he Kingdom of God has been forgiven its $ST1783.50 debt to the Samoa Water Authority.

It is one of several church organizations listed as owing money to the government owned utility and makes up part of debts totaling more than $ST2.6 million the authority is seeking to write off.

Other churches also make the list to be forgiven their trespasses against SWA, as do many government ministries and businesses, big and small.

Samoa Observer reports that the chairman of Samoa Water Authority, Matatauali’itia Afa Lesa also stands to be forgiven a debt of $2,210 as does Associate Minister for Revenue, Lenata’i Victor Tamapua with a debt of $3,880.

The chairman is not speaking to anyone on the matter and the associate minister told the newspaper it was debt owed by a person who leased one of his houses.

According to the list, water bills incurred by private and public schools amount to $ST16,736.81, churches $ST27,380.09, Government ministries and corporations $ST39,159.63, businesses and organisations $ST68,113.75 and individuals $ST2.45 million.
