The first election related forum this week was organised by students and teachers of South Pacific Academy for Congressional candidates.

One of the questions which students of South Pacific Academy asked congressional candidate Meleagi Suitonu Chapman is what should be done to bring down Hawaiian Air fares between Honolulu and Pago Pago.

Mrs Suitonu Chapman, the lone candidate who attended the Wednesday evening forum at the SPA gymnasium, said the solution is the cabotage law.

The law prohibits international airlines from traveling directly between two US destinations.

The candidate said waiving cabotage, would allow foreign airlines to serve the Pago Pago route.
