Chamber looks to strengthening relationships

“Strengthening Relationships Between the Public and Private Sectors” was the theme for this month’s Chamber of Commerce members meeting yesterday afternoon.

The need for the business community to take a proactive stance and collaborate and work closely with the government were cited as necessary to restoring the territory’s economy.

Chamber Vice Chairwoman Luisa Kuaea told the meeting of how the  Guam Chamber of Commerce interacts with their government and has an influential role in the territory. 

Guest  speakers included Director of Commerce Keniseli Lafaele, Representative Sam Meleisea and Paul Young, Special Advisor to the Governor.

Before his current post in the Governor’s Office, Young formerly chaired the chamber of commerce. He had this to say to the business community –

There was a brief Q&A session after each speaker’s address and questions covered topics such as taxes, resources and revenue.
