Korean American Hannah Kim fulfilled her mission to visit the farthest part of the United States to meet with soldier who served in the Korean War,

At a gathering last week at the Veterans Center,  Kim who is the ambassadress of Korean war veterans met some of the men who served in that war or were stationed at some time in their military careers in her country.

She presented each of them with a small gift, a heart shaped American flag pin, and she laid a wreath in honor of those who were killed in Korea.

Kim said when she was 22 she almost died from a car accident.  As a result of receiving what she calls a bonus life surviving  that accident she promised to do something a little larger than herself.

She was US Rep Charles Rangel’s Communications Director later becoming his Chief of Staff and when Rangel retired in 2017, she set out on a journey around the world visiting every country that was a part of the UN effort during the war.

She founded  an organization called remember 727 which is dedicated to honoring veterans of the Korean War or the Forgotten War.

After meeting with local veterans she traveled to Samoa to honor veterans of the Korean War there.
