Samoa Police Service has launched an investigation into an alleged child abduction attempt posted on social media.
In a Facebook post yesterday, SPS said while the matter was not reported directly to Police, the information they had received so far was assisting them in launching an investigation into the matter.
They are now looking for a 15-seater Toyota van with a blue stripe on the bottom and tinted windows with a broken rear windscreen window.
The SPS takes this matter seriously and is asking members of the public to report any sighting of a van with similar description or any mechanic workshop receiving recent request for replacement of rear windshield window of a 15 seater van.
SPS also reminded parents to be vigilant and ensure safety of young children by ensuring that they are accompanied by an adult at night time when walking on the road.
