Only 5 % of the eligible population have taken the pills for lymphatic filariasis on this first wwek of the mass medication.

Next week the campaign to eliminate filariasis moves to schools and parents are asked to look out for the consent forms that their children will be bringing home.

If parents don’t sign the forms their kids will not be given the filariasis pills.

On Sunday, Department of Health teams will be at some churches in the Tuala-uta District to distribute the  filariasis medication.

Dr. Anaise Uso gave an update on the campaign on the Samoa Sunrise Show this morning.
