Bluesky explains cause of west side outages

Bluesky provides the following information regarding interruption of cable/internet services for some of its customers served off the Leone main node.

A node is a cable system equipment for transmitting signal – similar to a power feeder or distribution line.

The Bluesky service center recorded frequent calls from customers within the Leone area last week of poor cable picture quality or heavy pixellation.

Upon conducting site visits to check, Bluesky technicians determined the cause was due to an electrical fault at the main node.

More specifically, an electronic component failure caused the signal levels to drop in areas serviced by this particular node.

Based on those findings, the Moana TV linecrew made the decision to expedite an emergency maintenance on the node last week to completely replace and upgrade the equipment to improve cable services in the area.

An advisory notice was posted for all Moana TV customers in the village of Leone, – including the villages of Vailoa, Lepuapua and Malaeloa as we anticipated some customers in these areas would be affected as well – alerting them to expect frequent interruption to periods of no service during the maintenance work.

Bluesky has confirmed that not all customers experienced service loss during the maintenance outage.

At present their linecrew has completed the upgrade of the node equipment.

However part of the work to restore services requires individual service line optimization which field technicians have been conducting and continually doing so throughout the affected areas.

Bluesky says the weather has provided some challenges over the last few days but they anticipate completing all repairs and fully restoring services for affected customers by the end of this week.
