Our man in Honolulu for the 3rd Annual JPS Classic, John Raynar, reports on what the teams have been doing since arriving in the Aloha State.

On Sunday the JPS team took the day off practice and hosted their own church service at the hotel where they’re  staying, the Aqua Surf in Waikiki, but they’re back on the grind Monday as they prepare for their first game later this week.

Monday night the JPS Classic gets underway officially with a meet and greet where staff, players and officials from teams here in Hawaii, American Samoa, California and Las Vegas get acquainted with one another.

Tuesday’s first game begins with San Diego versus Las Vegas, and Team American Samoa is set to play the winner of that game come Thursday.

There are 3 different teams from the 684 being represented: Division 1, which is 7th and 8th graders with a team of 32 kids, 46 American Samoan students are on the senior football All Stars and 12 girl volleyballers are in the Aloha State as well.
