Sua Faipule Puleleiite Tufele Jr., Is Leaving House Seat

After four terms as House Representative for Sua District, Puleleiite Tufele Liamatua  Jr, says he is stepping down from his House seat,

Responding to KHJ News questions, Puleleiite says his decision to leave his faipule position is one he took after serious consideration and consultation with key advisors in his district.

He said, “I have had the honor to serve Sua District for a long time through the support of my constituents.

“The reason for my decision at this time is to be able to fully commit myself to the roles and responsibilities I have taken up as the ASTCA Chairman and Acting CEO.”

Puleleiite stated, “The success of ASTCA is critical to the success and future of our territory. I believe it requires my full attention in order for the agency to grow and improve its services as well as the skills of our local staff towards the ultimate goal and vision, which is to make it better for the community as a whole and economically stable for the future.”

He added, “I will continue to serve my district through this new role, and I could not have made this decision without their continued support. I remain grateful and will forever be in service to my constituents I serve, no matter the role I am in.”

Regarding his duties at ASTCA where he is both Chairman of the Board and Interim CEO, Puleleiite said: *I and the entire team at ASTCA are continuing to work hard to make improvements in ASTCA.

“We are building on the work done by prior leadership, and we are facing the challenges head on.

“This will take more time, but I remain confident in our team and plans that the changes are happening.”

He concluded, “I take this opportunity to thank the Board and Management and Staff of ASTCA for their hard work over the past months, and in the months to come.*
