The governor plans to hold a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
At yesterday’s emergency cabinet meeting, Governor Lolo Moliga informed directors that a territorial wide fundraising will be held to raise funds to help families displaced in Texas due to flooding.
The governor appointed a committee to organize the fundraiser in collaboration with the American Samoa Red Cross.
This is not the first time that the government has spearheaded a fundraiser for victims of a natural disaster.
As of today, at least 37 people have died and more than 30,000 people are in shelters as a result of Hurricane Harvey which has caused the worst flooding ever.
