Yesterday afternoon, a pick-up truck parked in front of the CBT Building in Nu’uuli rolled across the street over the side walk and down to the Laufou parking lot hitting two cars parked there.
A police officer at the scene said it was fortunate no one was injured ..it would have been tragic if people were in the parked vehicles.
According to the officer, the green-pick up truck was filled with taro and bananas heading to the market.
A woman and a child were in the back of the truck while the driver was inside the CBT Store.
The officer said according to the woman in the truck she felt the vehicle moving down to the main road, crossed to the other side and rolled down the small slope to the Laufou parking lot.
The two parked vehicles which the truck slammed into sustained damages. The woman and the child in the back of the moving truck escaped uninjured.
Police suspect problems with the vehicle’s brakes.
