The Etena Fou Church of Las Vegas will conclude its first annual Aoga Samoa tomorrow.
The Samoan language class is a first for the Samoan community of Las Vegas.
Faletua Dorris Tofaeono said that the class is no different than aoga Samoa here at home.
The only disadvantage for the Las Vegas community is that they have to start from the basics which is pronouncing and saying Samoan vowels.
The aoga Samoa wasn’t just for members of Etena Fou church but was open to all Samoans residing in Las Vegas.
There were 30 participants when the class started but today there are 70 participants altogether.
Students will sit final exams today and the aoga Samoa ends tomorrow with a Samoan ava ceremony, along with traditional dances and a Samoan feast.
Etena Fou church is under the supervision of Reverend Ailao Malepeai Tofaeono and Dorris Tofaeono.
