Girls U17 Handball Team Plays First Game Tuesday

American Samoa’s Under 17 girls handball team arrived safely in Mauritius for the world championships over the weekend.

The team traveled via Apia and Fiji  made a stop in Singapore before heading to the African country of Mauritius.

They managed to get some sightseeing in before competition starts.

Their first game is against Spain at 10:20 am tomorrow and their second game is against Portugal at 3  pm in the afternoon.

Wednesday is their third game of the tournament and that will decide their placing and if they make it to their championship on Friday.

There are ten girls in the team which is led by Coach and President of the Handball Association Carl Floor.
