Yesterday was one of frustrating day for customers of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority trying to make a simple call from cell to cell or landline to cell and vice versa.
The phones were just not talking to each other for most of the day.
Interim CEO of ASTCA Rep. Puleleiite Tufele Jr. said a problem was detected at around 10 am yesterday which affected calls from ASTCA cell phones to landlines and also to BlueSky cell phones
ASTCA issued a notice on the radio mid morning yesterday advising customers of the technical difficulties.
Puleleiite said the problem was resolved around 4:30 pm.
The interim CEO did not say what the problem was but said every outage of service or incident report will be reviewed and ASTCA hopes to give a report to the public by next week.
