McConnell Dowell Will Look for Solution to Hope House Road

The new Project Manager for McConnell Dowell, Lee Stewart, has assured Tuala-uta resident Larry Sanitoa that their company will look at addressing the flooding in Ottoville.

In response to a request from Sanitoa, a former lawmaker for Tuala-uta, Stewart said McConnell will look into implications from draining the water in the badly flooded spots in Ottoville, will have on surrounding area and where the water can be drained to.

He said their company agrees that something needs to be done about the constant flooding in the area,

Sanitoa had said that both the site near Hope House and in front of the LDS Stake Center are a health and safety hazard.

Steward informed Sanitoa, “We are putting together an action plan i.e. current levels in and around trouble area, where we can and what will happen if we drain there, investigation of a long term solution (or best we can in the situation) and how much that may cost for labor, plant and materials.

“Once we have this together we can come to you, with requests for approval (from Hope House and surrounding properties to drain area and what the long term solution may cost.”

At that point said the project manager, they can look at funding options.

Stewart told Sanitoa, “We intend to have a investigation plan to you back end of next week.”
