One of the speakers at the Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM)Summit on Saturday has not let her disability slow her down.

Fausaga Taufetee, who has brittle bone, owns a photography, clothesline and make up business.

She holds an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice from the American Samoa Community College and is currently pursuing a Bachelors in the same field.

Fausaga has also been a trailblazer for equal opportunities and access in education for students with special needs and it’s because of her and her parents’ advocacy that Midkiff Elementary and Leone High School, are compliant with the American Disability Act in terms of access and facilities for those with special needs.

Fausaga urged parents of children with special needs to make their voices heard so that their children can have all the benefits they are entitled to.
