The conference room behind the Lee Auditorium is where sessions of the House of Representatives will be held when the Fono convenes for its second regular session next July.
The Senate sessions are to be held in the Fono guest house.
Governor Lolo Moliga says the House has requested blocking off the conference room behind the Lee Auditorium for the House sessions and this has been done.
The Fono building in Fagatogo, which is run down and hasn’t received any repairs, save for roof patches and plumbing and electrical work from time to time will be dismantled to make way for a new home for the lawmaking branch of the American Samoa Government.
The Project Notification and Review System Committee has approved a land use permit for the demolition of the old building, a project which has not been put out for bidding.
No information has been released to the media on whether construction of the new Fono building will be bid out.
