Concerns were raised about Samoa’s close relationship with Communist China during Congresswoman Aumua Amata’s face to face with senators and House Representatives yesterday,
Leitulagi Senator Tuiagamoa Tavai asked the congresswoman if President Donald Trupm was aware of the close connection between Samoa and China and the fact that Samoa is our closet neighbor.
Tuiagamoa said he has discussed this concern with several colleagues who are also worried about the friendship between Apia and Beijing.
He asked ,Congresswoman Aumua to let President Trump know this is unsettling for the territory’s security.
Tuiagamoa also suggested that extra security measures be put in place at Pago Pago International Airport to protect the territory .
The Leasina senator said the congresswoman should take advantage of the time she’ll be flying on Air force 2 with Vice President Mike Pence to discuss this very important matter.
