Lt. Governor makes it official

Lt Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga, as chair of the Flag Day Fautasi Race Committee  has corrected published reports on the official times of the 9 fautasi which raced in the preliminary heats on Wednesday.

Speaking to Doug Tuigamala after the junior fautasi race this afternoon, Lemanu said some are questioning why the Aeto is not in the line up for the finals when it finished the race faster than the last two boats in yesterday’s race,.

Lemanu announced the official times from yesterday’s heats as follows:

1. Aua’s Paepaeulupoo  35 mins 19 seconds 13  milliseconds
2. Vatia’s Fuao 35 mins 19 seconds 35
3. Nu’uuli’s Manulele Tausala 35 minutes 24 seconds 78 ,
4. Manua’s Matasaua 36 minutes 35 seconds 9
5. Leone’s Taema 36 minutes, 37 seconds 25
6. Fagatogo’s Iseula 37 minutes 55 seconds 12
7. Fagaalu’s Fetu o le Afiafi 39 minutes, 12 seconds 23

8. Pago Pago’s Aeto 39 minutes 27 seconds 44

9. Fagasa’s Felofani Samoa 41 minutes 2 seconds 23

The Aeto and Fealofani are eliminated and the top 7 will race in the finals on Saturday.
