The Senate approved two directors this morning.
Filifaatali Mike Fuiava is confirmed as Director of Agriculture and Faleosina Faiai Voigt gets the green light for another term as Director of Public Works under Governor Lolo Moliga.
Both directors have already been approved by the House of Representatives so they are cleared for their cabinet posts.
The Senate vote was unanimous 17-0.
In the House of Representatives, Mrs Evelyn Lili’o Satele was confirmed as Director of the Territorial Administration on Aging Office by a vote of 17-1.
Fuega Moliga, was approved by a unanimous 18-0 vote to serve as Director of Administrative Services.
Along with director nominees for departments and agencies, the governor has also sent to the Senate for confirmation , his nomination of Ruth Matagi Faatili for a second term as President of the Development Bank of American Samoa.
The governor said in the last four years Matagi Faatili in conjunction with the Bank Board of Directors has made great strides in improving the financial integrity of the bank along with increasing financial services provided to the business community an general public.
He said new funds were secured to expand the bank’s scope of services to business as well as our people.
He added the annual audited financial reports conducted on the operation of the bank bears testimony to the bank’s progress in the last four years.
Lolo said under her watch, arm’s length cooperation and working relationship with the Department of Commerce, was solidly fashioned forging acceleration in implementing economic development programs.
Only the senate confirms the DBAS President.
