
An expedition that is mapping the ocean floor of waters of American Samoa had made some interesting finds.
For example manganese nodules which have been discovered in the ocean depths of other Pacific islands.
The research vessel Kilo Moana, from the University of Hawaii is mapping the ocean floor in waters of American Samoa and also dredging to identify what lies underneat the sea crust.
The vessel arrived in port yesterday and should have left by now except that a piece of radar equipment is being repaired.
