Four directors and a deputy director have been appointed to serve in the second term of Governor Lolo Moliga and Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga.
Pending nomination and confirmation by the legislature they are:
Paramount Chief Mauga Tasi Asuega as Secretary of Samoan Affairs,
Ueligitone Tonumaipe’a as Treasurer,
Tuaolo Manaia Fruean as Commissioner of Public Safety,
Talauega Eleasalo Ale as Attorney General and
Taimalelagi Dr. Claire Tuia Poumele as Director of Port Administration.
The wording of the appointment letters are the same, that the individuals are appointed to serve this administration’s second term in office.
The governor has also appointed High Talking Chief Malemo Tausaga as Deputy Secretary of Samoan Affairs.
The appointments are effective January 3.
Senator Tuaolo had been selected as senator for Ma’uputasi but now that he has been picked as commissioner, Maoputasi would need to select another ranking matai for the Senate seat.
Tuaolo was also Commissioner of Public Safety during the Togiola Faoa Administration.
Mauga, Talauega, and Taimalelagi are returening to the same cabinet positions they held for the first four years of the Lolo Lemanu government.
Malemo Tausaga , who has been tapped for deputy Secretary of Samoan Affairs, is currently director of Administrative Services.
He replaces Tuiagamoa Tavai as the assistant secretary.
