Shootings at shopping malls came close to home with the Ala Moana Center, Honolulu shooting on Christmas night.

A 20-year-old male, Steven Feliciano, is in the hospital in critical condition while the gunman is still on the loose.

Feliciano has ties to American Samoa through his mother who is Samoan.

Honolulu police are looking for Dae Han Moon, who is wanted for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree.

The shooting happened Christmas night on the 5th level of the parking structure of the Ewa wing of Ala Moana Center.

Emergency Medical Services say Feliciano was shot in the back of the head.

Police say the victim got into an argument with the suspect, it escalated, and the suspect grabbed a gun from his vehicle and shot the victim.

Ala Moana Center was closed at the time of the shooting in observance of the Christmas holiday, although a restaurant was open that day.

Francis Cofran, the center’s general manager, released a statement Monday afternoon, saying:

“We are very saddened by the incident that occurred at Ala Moana Center’s Mauka Ewa Parking Structure on December 25.

“As this is an active investigation, we continue to cooperate with the Honolulu Police Department and are unable to further comment.

“The safety and welfare of our customers is of the utmost importance and we take that very seriously. Ala Moana Center hours of operation remain unaffected.”
