The special role of families in spreading love, peace and maintaining stability  was the focus of Governor Lolo Moliga’s address at the opening of the Territorial Christmas Program at Malaeoletalu last night.

The governor said in this season of love and goodwill,  the role of the family in maintaining love and peace in society is very important.

He said if a family exudes love and maintains peace and harmony, this will extend to villages, churches , our government and our territory.

He said the blessings that our families receive are evidence of God’s love for our people and country.

“At this season of love and good cheer,” Governor Lolo said, “we should be thankful for the gift of our families.”

Rev Elder Kereti Faiai of CCCAS Afono led the opening prayer service for the Christmas program and First Lady Cynthia Malala Moliga lit up the  Territorial Christmas tree.

More than a dozen choirs sang hymns and songs of the season last night.

The Christmas program will continue tonight and tomorrow.
