Suspected Drug Activity Behind Police Station

A faafafine arrested last week in connection with a police drug raid raised suspicion of residents because of traffic to his home behind the Fagatogo police station.

Falaniko Stowers also known as Nicole was charged last week with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance known as methaphetamine or ice and unlawful distribution of the same substance.

Court documents say several people became suspicious of the defendant being involved in illegal activity due to foot and vehicle traffic to and from the defendant’s place on the hill behind the police station.

People started contacting DPS in September about  their suspicions.

A Fagatogo villager reported that the defendant used to live at the infamous Aute Bar in Malaeloa then moved to a home right next to the home of a court marshal and former police officer.

In October, another informant reported that the defendant made several exchanges with people outside his house in the middle of the night.

Police surveillance confirmed the frequent coming and going of people to the defendant’s place in the  morning, noon and mostly during government pay week.

According to court filings, last month a confidential informant provided information to the police.

The information prompted police to request a warrant from the court to search the defendants home.

This was conducted Monday of last week.

When police saw the defendant driving they flagged him down.

But Stowers told the detectives he was rushing to the EOB to pick up a license for the Aute pool bar.

In the search, detectives found 6 cut up straws with crystalline substances.

When police asked what they were the defendant responded, “you know what it is.”

Other drug paraphernalia was also found. .

During questioning the defendant told police, “If I’m caught, I’m caught, just let it go.”
