With the number of suspected Zika cases, those seen at the LBJ Emergency Room and community health centers with symptoms of Zika nearing 1,000, the Department of Health and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, are continuing awareness and prevention activities to combat the spread of the disease.
Their latest event is a Zika Action Day happening this Saturday at Cost U Less from 8am to noon.
The aim is to improve people’s understanding of this mosquito bourne disease, and make them take charge of prevention measures for themselves and their families.
