Candidates Reminded to File Campaign Spending Reports

Candidates who were on the ballot for the 2016 general elections are reminded that they must file reports on their campaign spending wtih the Campaign Spending Commission.

Chairman of the Campaign Spending Commission, Finauvale Alex Zodiacal, says in a public notice issued today all candidates or authorized persons must prepare and submit to the CSC an organization report, preliminary report, final report and supplementary report.

Candidates, their designees or treasurers are required to file a final or a supplemental report no later than 4:30 pm on the 20th day after the general, special or run-off election is certified.

This means the due date for the final or supplementary report for all candidates is November 28.

Finauvale reminds that a candidate or committee which makes expenditures of $500 or less may file a short form report with the commission in lieu of the reports required by law.

Candidates or their designees are asked to submit the original plus one copy of their reports to the Campaign Spending Commission Office, in care of the Election Office, Attention: Campaign Spending Commission Chairman, Finauvale A.P Zodiacal.

The commission will issue a receipt showing the type of report and filing date.

These reports will also be made available to the Chief Election Officer.
