There were no election challenges filed when the seven day period for challenges was up at 4:30 pm today.
Therefore Election Commissioner Uiagalelei Dr. Lealofi Uiagalelei has certified the results of the November 8, 2016 general election.
All of the results remain the same except for one additional vote each for some of the candidates in the gubernatorial and congressional elections.
In the gubernatorial election, Lolo & Lemanu and Faoa and Sanitoa got one additional vote each.
Lolo and Lemanu’s total votes is 7,236 and Faoa and Sanitoa get 4,306.
Tuika and Salanoa’s ballots remain the same at 484.
In the congressional race, one additional vote goes to Aumua Amata taking her total votes to 8,924. Vaitinasa remains at 1,581 votes, Paepaetele Mapu Jamias also retains 978 ballots, Meleagi Chapman gets 181 and Timothy Jones has 171.
There were no changes in the House of Representatives election results.
