The Election Office is calling on candidates whose names are on the ballot for next Tuesday’s general election to submit your poll watcher lists to the Election Office as soon as possible.
In addition, the last day for walk in absentees and voting for those with disabilities is November 7.
The Election Office is also advising Swains island voters that the meeting to select the Swains Delegtate to the House of Representatives will be held at 1pm this Saturday at the Election Office.
Under local law, the Swains island delegate is selected at an open meeting by adult residents of Swains island.
Swains Island hasn’t been populated for about 20 years and the meetings to select the Swains representative to the Fono have been held on Tutuila.
The Swains island delegate votes in committee but doesn’t have a vote on the floor.
The incumbent, Swains delegate Su’a Alexander Jennings has been in the Fono since 2005.
