A young man from American Samoa was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri over the weekend.
The Examiner newspaper identifies the victim as 27 year old Jacobsen Laumoli of Independence.
The newspaper said the shooting occurred shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.
Police had responded to a call of “shots fired” and found Laumoli dead outside a residence.
According to KMBC-TV News, witnesses said the shooting happened after a fight broke out between guests at two different parties.
Police have made no arrests in the case and are seeking help from anyone who may know anything about this incident to step forward.
Laumoli’s death marks the seventh homicide in Independence this year.
