ASCC Holds FAFSA Nights This Week

To help parents and incoming students prepare for when they enter college, the American Samoa Community College is hosting “FAFSA NIGHTS.”

FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

This program is offered to help both high school senior and their parents understand about Federal Student Aid Program and all types of of financial support that may be available to them.

It’s a free hands-on workshop presented by the ASCC Financial Aid Office.

The first FAFSA night, which will be for Fagaitua and Samoana High School seniors and their parents is tomorrow at 5pm at the Youth and Women’s Affairs Center in Pago Pago.

Nu’uuli Vo-Tech, Kanana-fou and Pacific Horizons will have their FAFSA night on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 @5pm at the American Samoa Community College, Computer Lab-RoomS 15 and 16.

The FAFSA night for Tafuna, South Pacific Academy and Iakina High School is on Thursday, November 3, also at the ASCC.

Manumalo, Faasao Marist and Leone high School will have their FAFSA night on Friday, November 4th @ 5 pm. also at ASCC.

Students are asked to bring copies of their Social Security cards, parent’s full name on the Social Security Card, date of birth, parents’ martial status, parents’ 2015 tax or other source of income.

The ASCC Financial Aid Office team says that this was one method they have thought to tackle the slow process and long lines which occur every school year with new students.
