To ensure that local personnel in Manu’a are able to run and maintain the multi million dollar solar project, which was commissioned in Manu’a yesterday, training is being provided as part of the contract between the American Samoa Power Authority and Solar City.
Program Manager Brad Detjen says the project uses advanced technology to monitor the control system and ensure the photovoltaic panels, the battery storage and the diesel generators are all functioning and kick in as they are supposed to.
